Cyclone Fans Like Football, Willing to Spend Money

Des Moines Register

A total of 7,217 student season tickets have been sold for football, bettering the old mark of 6,974 set last year.

The Athletics Department sent an email to the student body this week explaining that only 583 student tickets remain for coach Gene Chizik’s first season.

I'm really happy to see this as I've just been horrendously disappointed the last few years in the students. I feel like the record is probably in a way related to the policy for the Iowa game, but I sure as heck won't complain. We're up to 35,356 season tickets sold this year. Each season ticket sets a new record. Imagine if we win more than four games next year....
