Student Season Tickets Sell Out; Hillside Seats Available

Cyclones.com link

This is a big deal. After selling around 6,900 student tickets last year, the Athletic department has sold out the student allotment of 7,800 season tickets for the northeast corner of the stadium - a new record. Students will no be able to get tickets for the hillsides a discounted student rates.

The 7,800+ now bumps the Clones up to 36,047 season tickets sold. That's a sure way to boost athletic department revenue. Couple in the fact that the men's basketball team has already sold out it's allotment of season tickets, and it's nice to see students finally stepping up to the plate. Now, the enxt step will be keeping the butts in seats (or rather, standing on top of the seats.) There have been 912 hillside tickets (total) sold up to this point. I realize they are more attractive as a walkup option, butit'd be crazy if we could keep selling those.

Gene Chizik wants our stadium to be loud, and we can't do it without the students. The craziest game I've been to at my time at State was the 2005 faceoff against Iowa, where the crowd made it as loud as I've ever heard it in the Jack. We need that every game.

ISU backup kicker and starting holder Josh Greibahn feels kickers are being picked on. Probably.

JUCO cornerback Allen Bell likes mouthpieces. Who doesn't?

Here's a nice article on new QB commit Jerome Tiller. Note: He's a quarterback, and the coaching staff told him so:

"I am coming in to play quarterback only," Tiller explained. "I talked to the coaches before I made my decision and that was one of the main questions."

So that answers that.

Just curious

What did you read or see in the last 12 days that made you change so many teams from your original rankings?

Well
A lot of teams moved just because I moved a couple of teams. I felt I probably overrated UCLA and underrated Nebraska and Hawaii.
