ISU v KU

Positives: The game was on TV which makes me glad it was a great game to watch (except for the outcome) so at least the spark is there for more appearances.
They looked great for about 3 quarters, and almost knocked off a very good but slightly overrated Kansas.
If the fresh/soph talent we have this year improves, we’re going to see a bowl team for sure next year, and maybe this if they can get a couple lucky breaks and build confidence.

Negatives: I felt like the offensive play calling early in the second half was way to conservative. They should have stuck with the medium range passing game that got them where they were.

Questions? what about Bates in a kick return job? I hate seeing a running talent like that on the sideline when they’re getting very little production from the kick return game.

WTF?!?

That game was painful to say the least. Its hurts to be that close and yet so far again and again (Oklahoma 2007 anyone?). I hate to talk about silver linings, but the team looked good mixing it up on the offense and looked potent on defense especially in the first half. They were definitely conservative on offense in the first but that can be remedied. Maybe this is a good sign looking toward the rest of the season. I hope more games are televised.

Reasons to be positive

But I’m still sick about the loss. We really, really could have won that game.
