Gameday: Iowa State vs. Texas A&M

In a rare twist, both the Iowa State men's and women's basketball teams play the same team, Texas A&M, in Big 12 tournament play. Tonight is a chance for the Cyclones to make some statements. The women can earn their second straight Big 12 Tournament Championship bid with a second straight win over A&M in the semifinals. Heck, there's no reason the women can't pull off another big win in the craziest tournament in the history of the Big 12. Just the 3, 4, 7 and 8 seeds remain.
The men have a chance to seize momentum going into the offseason, and with what has been an erratic Aggie basketball team this year, a win is never out of the question. Things are already off to a good start with Ron Franklin and my personal favorite Fran Fraschilla doing the ESPN2 broadcast.
The Aggies are pretty high on the Cyclone Haterade list ever since the Sedrick Johnson fiasco, and I have to imagine that they don't like us a whole lot either, between Johnson, last year's women's tourney ouster, and the skullfucking we gave them last time we matched up in football. A basketball sweep today would just further that hate, and I'm totally fine with it.

Tourney starting off in cripple fight fashion, fighting for the right to lose to Texas. My money is on OSU to pull one out.
