Star-divide

  • New #1: Alabama has the hardest schedule of the unbeatens. I am started to be more sold on them as well, as I think they will beat Florida in the SEC Championship game.
  • I moved Oregon and Oklahoma State down slightly for barley winning this past week.
  • The biggest mover is Stanford at -9 spots after losing to Cal last night... With my numbers, I could make the case for dropping Stanford out, as they are the only 4 loss team on this ballot. Still, I think beating Oregon and USC has to count for something. They are going to finish ahead of USC in the Pac 10, so as long as USC is ranked, Stanford should be as well.
  • Some may question Mississippi getting ranked. LSU has been relatively shaky all year. There just aren't a lot of 3 loss teams that are out there that can make a stronger case right now (WVU, Nebraska, Navy, Wisconsin)... I thought about putting Arizona ahead of Mississippi due to a very strong SOS, but it felt weird putting them on there because they honestly let one slip against Oregon.

Any thoughts on the ballot?

Yikes

There are more Mountain West teams ranked than Big 12 ones. It hasn’t exactly been a banner year for the conference.

I thought Ole Miss looked pretty good against LSU. They’re finally playing a little more like the team people thought they would be.

Yeah

Mostly due to W-L… If BYU or Utah had 3 losses, they would have no chance, with SOS’s in the 80-100 range… With them playing each other next, one of them is gone for good.

The Big 12 beat up each other too much. Oklahoma has been a huge disappointment, along with KU, while Nebraska, and Texas Tech have been a little disappointing as well. Just too many losses, and not strong enough schedules.

I think the real “Yikes” should be how many ACC teams are on this list… That conference was arguably the worst a couple of years ago!
