Wrestling: Iowa vs. Iowa State Open Thread

For those of you that want to discuss the match between #1 Iowa and #2 ISU. It starts at 6pm is on IPTV and Clone Zone. Tired of seeing ISU lose in this one, but it's going to be really tough. At the very least, I want to see ISU be more aggressive in years past.

Damn it

McDonough has more energy…. Iowa is likely going up 3-0 after this one…. Too bad because this was one we were favored in, and really needed

Go Go Gallick up 5-1

Damn it!

Leclere gets a takedown in the closing seconds, and they’re going into OT… Gallick really hurt

149: Metcalf vs. Mueller

Mueller not getting majored or teched will be a moral victory. Metcalf is probably the best wrestler in the nation. Period

Wow

Metcalf baited Mueller and pins him

Iowa 12, ISU 3

We’re going to lose this meet….. Again. You CANNOT give bonus points up

by Mark Kieffer on Dec 6, 2009 6:53 PM CST reply actions

Another year

Where Iowa gets bonus points and wins the toss-ups…. Janssen is looking to win this one

Iowa 15, ISU 3

ISU needs to sweep this last 4 to win it, including getting bonus points

I forgot and wore my ISU hoodie around downtown Iowa City

Lots of nasty looks, but my Iowa hoodie had dog hair all over it.

Iowa 18, ISU 6

3 matches to go… Need to win out and get bonus points

He just picked him up and threw him down

Yeah me neither

Don’t worry about it… No one had Youtube in mind or anything like that back then

Great match

First time I’ve seen an ISU upset in one of these I think….. Wish more guys were able to be aggressive like Ward was

No action yet

Iowa 18, ISU 16

Difference was the fall from Metcalf. We needed more from the lower weights, and Mueller getting pinned really hurt

by Mark Kieffer on Dec 6, 2009 8:04 PM CST reply actions

Not a terrible night all in all.

The upset shows we can get it done when it counts.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
