Fennelly's freshman class...

It was good to see that Poppens has arrived on campus and that the other four newcomers will arrive later this month.  I don't think Coach Fennelly has ever had a team that needed the freshman class to walk on the court and be ready to play right away.  With the loss of five seniors to graduation and the transfer of three of last year's freshman class to say that the numbers are down would be an understatement.  With only two starters (Lacy and Bolte) returning he will have his hands full finding some offense.  Williams and Stuckey both played valuable minutes down the stretch last season and will probably either start or be one of the first players off the bench next season.  Florzak, Mossman, and Lightbourne are going to have to earn their collective scholarships in 2009-2010. They will be needed to play substantial minutes and not just set on the bench and hold hands.  Plus the five new players will have to mold into a unit very quickly to be able to face Big 12 competition.  I wish Coach and his staff all the best this year.  If the Clones go back to NCAA's Fennelly will rightfully deserve Coach of the Year honors.
