Recap: Tulane vs. Rice

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Eric Vianney scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Tulane Green Wave to a 65-54 win over the Rice Owls in Conference USA action at Fogelman Arena.

Vianney finished the day a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from the field for Tulane (7-8, 1-1 CUSA), including 5-of-5 behind the three-point line as he also collected six rebounds and handed out five assists. Kris Richard chipped in 16 points and Kevin Sims 12 as the team snapped a two-game slide.

The Owls (5-9, 0-1) were paced by Lawrence Ghoram and his 17 points, followed by Rodney Foster with 11 and five assists as the team lost for the fifth time in the last six outings.

Both teams shot just under 40 percent from the field in the first half, leaving the squads tied at the break, 28-28.

In the second half the Owls dipped to a mere 30 percent from the floor and 1- of-9 beyond the arc, allowing Tulane to capture the home win.

In a game that saw nine ties and six lead changes, the Green Wave managed to pick up the win despite shooting only 39.3 percent from the floor.
