Gene Chizik picked up a commitment at a needed position with the verbal from Florida linebacker Ernest Ferguson. He checks in at 6-0, 215. He picked ISU over Ole Miss and West Virginia.
He visited West Virginia a week after he visited ISU, and I'm guessing the chance at playing time with the loss of Jon Banks and Alvin Bowen is something that drew him here. He's a two-star on Rivals and a one-star on Scout, but his offer sheet would tend to show that he's a better prospect than that.
Hopefully, ISU will start to focus on some of the skill positions at this point, such as cornerback and wide receiver, as well as the continuing focus on the line.
Oh, and a kicker...
