The Cyclones continued their hot streak of actual commitments today as West Des Moines OL/TE Conor Boffeli decided that he would choose the Cyclones over the Hawkeyes Boffeli also continues a streak of two straight comittments from guys with weird looking pictures. He's got a weird head/neck combo going on there. Boffeli ranks as the #7 player in the state of Iowa. It's believed that he chose ISU over Iowa from a desire to play tight end over offensive line, and ISU was apparently willing to give him a chance. Here's the ESPN take: With his size he will be best suited as a mainly a blocker at the college level. He is an adequate receiver. Needs to keep improving as a route runner. Displays adequate speed and will not make many defenders miss at the college level with the ball in his hands. Will be best suited as an outlet in the short passing game. Boffeli is a solid prospect whose best upside is as a blocking tight end. I'm willing to bed that he ends up on the offensive line eventually, but, either way, he seems like a pretty sure bet to redshirt next year in order to bulk up even more on his 6-5, 250 frame.
