Week 12: I Can't Wait For This Weekend

I have no idea what will happen, but this time of year is so exciting. The Cyclones are bowl-eligible, but this week will basically tell us where the Cyclones will end up.

Depending on the outcomes of Texas A&M vs. Baylor, K-State vs. Nebraska, and of course ISU vs. Missouri, we will be able to get a good idea of where ISU might go.

Even as a general college football fan, there are a number of teams playing for bowl positioning. It's so much fun watching these teams try to make a run, and having every outcome down this stretch magnifying every outcome. Early in the season, a heartbreaking loss can be overcome. This time of year, it can not.

On the next page, I'll go over the games I'm most looking forward to this weekend (on TV or not)

1. ISU vs. Missouri (1:00pm, no TV)-Pretty obvious, but I don't want anyone to think I'm NOT looking forward to this game!

2. K-State vs. Nebraska (6:45pm, ESPN) - It's going to essentially decide the Big 12 North, and also decide whether the Big 12 will have 8 or 9 teams that are bowl eligible.

3. UConn vs. Notre Dame (1:30pm, NBC) - It's do or die for the Huskies. They have 5 losses, but have hung tough. They have had an extra week to prepare for Notre Dame, who is currently facing their annual turmoil and distractions. It will be interesting to see how these two teams come out.

4. Kansas vs. Texas (7pm, ABC) - No this isn't a joke. I think Texas wins, but I wonder how KU comes out. They are dealing with so many internal problems right now in the program, I'm curious if the team rallies around this, or if they fizzle. It's still hard for me to believe that KU has had this many losses in a row; they have too many good players to be playing this poorly.

More on the ISU vs. Missouri game on Friday with the Missouri preview. Also, be sure to ask any questions you have in the "Ask Rock M Nation" fanpost.
