Week 3 Bowl Picks: Friday Edition

New, 2 comments

Crap. I was up too late last night, slept in too much, and I wasn't able to get all of my picks up before action today. It sucks because today is one of my favorites regarding matchups!

Outback Bowl, 10am CST, Today, ESPN (my #20 ranked bowl): I'm not suprised by the blowout. This wasn't an even matchup, and I had Auburn winning by 10+ points in my head, too much offense for the Wildcats.

Capital One Bowl, Noon CST, Today, ESPN (my #13 ranked bowl): I've got LSU winning this game, 24-21. Vegas has Penn State favored by 2, but I think the LSU Defense will be able to slow down PSU, and will have just enough offense to edge them.

Gator Bowl, Noon CST, Today, CBS (my #9 rated bowl): I'm going with Florida State by 3. Those guys are going to find a way to get the coach a W. Vegas has it the other way.

Rose Bowl, 3:30pm CST, ABC (my #6 rated bowl): Oregon is going to be too much for Ohio State. Ducks by 10+, covering the 5 points Vegas is giving them.

Sugar Bowl, 7:30pm CST, Fox (my #4 rated bowl): Going to be a heck of a matchup. Tebow's last game, vs. a Cincy team that probably feels like no one cares about them, having lost their headcoach, and original interim head coach. I think Florida is the better team, and Cincy is in a little disarray. Vegas has Florida by 13, but I think that's too high. I'd go with Florida by 3 or 7, but hoping Cincy wins.

I'll do the the rest of the bowl games for the weekend either tonight or tomorrow morning, hopefully prior to the International Bowl kicking off!

Enjoy your New Year's Day recovering from your "activities" last night. A good day to just reflect on the season the Cyclones had, along with watching some TV on probably the best single day to watch bowl games this year in my opinion.
