Oklahoma 52, Iowa State 0: A Narrative

Do I have to write about this? For real?

The game was just brutal. We were beat in all phases of the game, and one has to believe this is starting to wear the guys down mentally. Oklahoma looked sharp coming off a bye, not flat like Tech was, and it had to have made a huge difference in the game.

Landry Jones threw only 4 incomplete passes (30 for 34) the entire time he was out there. Ryan Broyles set an OU record with most receptions in the game (15, 13 of which came in the first half), and OU as a whole rushed for nearly 6 yards/carry.

ISU made a mediocre defense look like a top flight D, and quite honestly, when you get beat this badly AND get shutout, there just aren't a lot of positives in the game. If I had to pick one, it would be we turned the ball over 0 times... Imagine if we coughed it up or got picked off a few times....

At the end of the day, however, it's hard to get pissed or anything. You just gotta take a couple steps back, drink a Sam Adams Octoberfest (or five), and enjoy. For some college football fans, the season is about seeing their team go to a BCS bowl game... For me, I think it's going to be about me building up my alcohol tolerance. Such is life.
