I Don't Know What Happened, But I Want It Again: Iowa State 52, Texas Tech 38

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Iowa State team showed me something that I didn't know they had. It was really a special night in Ames. From Seneca Wallace being in the pregame video, to really seeing Iowa State have an answer to when things looked dicey. It was just a beautiful day, beautiful atmosphere, and it seemed like the perfect day for a Cyclone victory!

When the game got to 24-24, I thought the game was over, and I know most ISU fans felt that way too. I know I kept telling myself "we're on pace to get 400 yards on offense, score this many points, win the turnover battle, and have penalties be a wash, and lose the game". But when these guys got kicked, and when it seemed like Tech was going to cruise in the second half, Iowa State found a way to bounce back and win the game.

There were a lot of special plays in the game. Shontrelle Johnson took one 61 yards to the house, and Jeremy Reeves returned an onside kick attempt for a TD. You just have to find highlights of the game, because if I were to attempt

Honestly, I'm so jacked! I counted this team out, thought we had just seen their last win of the year, and they find a way to beat a team that has more talent on paper, and a team that had two weeks to prepare for this game. Rhoads and company got the players ready to go, and more importantly the players executed on offense better than we had seen all year. Honestly, the playcalling and the approach hasn't been that different; the difference today was that Arnaud, A-Rob, Franklin, Shontrelle, and others stepped up and made a play when one needed to be made.

One of the most fun games I've been to in a while. I don't know if we have a shot to make a bowl game, and how many wins we will have for the rest of the year, but I'm just going to sit here tonight and for the next couple of days and enjoy this. Anytime Iowa State can beat a Big 12 South team not named Baylor, it's a big deal, and I'm not going to let anyone ruin it. It's the players jobs to get ready to get back to work and prep for Utah. As a fan, it's my job to be in a good mood and optimistic about the season.

I'm sure Paul will jump in and add more, and maybe I'll go back and analyze when I come off this high!
