Lost in the shuffle last night was news that some UConn fans pushed the Cyclone mascot down a flight of concrete stairs, shattering two bones in the arm of the student inside. We wish the mascot a speedy recovery, and a pox of the house of Huskie.
The Iowa Corn Growers association had a meeting today to talk about the trophy with University officials. The main thing we learned is that they're scrapping the current trophy, they're opening the design of the trophy up to the public, and that there will be an "interim" trophy in the meantime. "Iowa State committed to winning despite lack of historical success, God told me to come to Ames, I'm scared of winter, I can save your struggling program, etc, etc"
Learn this and other fascinating facts in this 810 WHB interview with Paul Rhoads.
